“Family History Help” at Ballymoney Museum.

Ballymoney Museum is launching a new initiative to help people to research their ancestors in the North Antrim area. “Family History Help” will be available on Wednesday afternoons at the museum from 3 April to 22 May.  For a fee of £12, visitors can book a one hour session with an experienced genealogist and receive expert advice on how, what and where to focus their research.

Family history has become increasingly popular in recent years but it can be difficult to discover which archives and libraries hold the relevant records.  There is an overwhelming and confusing amount of information available and the “Family History Help” advice sessions aim to provide support and assistance for both novices and those who may be struggling to find a breakthrough with their research.

One hour sessions are available between 1.30-4.30pm on the following dates: 3, 10, 17, 24 April or 1, 8, 15 & 22 May.   For further details, please contact Ballymoney Tourist Information Tel: 028 2766 0230 or touristinfo@ballymoney.gov.uk.  Each booking costs £10, to be paid in advance.
